Located in the heart of Santa Monica, California, the house was in need of maintenance and improvement when the owners purchased the home. The renovation involved strategic removal of select interior partitions to enhance the indoor- relationship, and create spatial fluidity within the home. Skylights were installed to bring natural light into the house, and interior finishes and fixtures throughout the house were replaced and modernized. A functional, visually pleasing atmosphere was created, with an uninterrupted flow of motion. The resulting transformation retained its original exterior wall and overall style, while providing improvements to accommodate a contemporary lifestyle.
